The National Art and Design Saturday Club

The National Art and Design Saturday Club is a national scheme run by The Sorrell Foundation, a charitable organisation set up by Lord & Lady Sorrell in 1999.

The National Art and Design Saturday Club, which is supported by the Audi Design Foundation, was introduced at the Grimsby Institute of Further & Higher Education last year with the aim of encouraging creativity and giving access to specialist teaching facilities that would not normally be available to young people.

Every Saturday 14-16 year olds from across our region take part in art and design workshops at our Grimsby School of Art on Nuns Corner campus in Grimsby.

Throughout the year, the young people work on a variety of projects, under the guidance of our expert tutors, who are all practising artists themselves.

The club also takes in regular visits to art galleries and museums including Somerset House, a major centre for culture and arts in the centre of London, where the young people even get the chance to exhibit the works they have created.
